The new Show a subset and Follow a list settings make it easier to control which blocks are shown to respondents.
Show a subset
Specify the number of blocks each respondent should see. You can also randomize their order and prioritize the least-seen blocks.
This setting is ideal when you have a large pool of blocks, any of which could be shown to respondents, but want to limit the number displayed to reduce fatigue. For example, if you have 10 blocks about different soda brands (regardless of whether respondents are familiar with them), you limit the survey to only 3 blocks per respondent.
Follow a list
This flexible option allows you to utilize features such as
Using carry forward to display blocks that correspond to the selected items in a question.
Leveraging JavaScript to create advanced logic with variables or other custom conditions.
During the survey, the dynamic list is generated, and respondents only see the blocks corresponding to their list.
With this option, you could take the 10 blocks about different soda brands and show only the blocks that match the sodas a respondent drinks.
