Hi Sawtooth Team,
I received a dataset for a pricing study with utilities for 11 SKUs and 10 utilities for price ranges that were coded piecewise. I am not familiar with that approach. To the best of my knowledge, the way I calculate the (total) price utility to add to the product utility is to multiply the utilities with the span of each price range (range share in the example below) and than add all the resulting values for the ranges that have been passed by the current price plus the portion of the segment that price falls into. Here is an example for calculating the (total) price utility for 47 € (utilities are imaginery).
According to this calculation I would add -9.32 to the product utility. Is my assumption correct?
