Is there a way to derive a probability (from MD scores) of each item to be among the top [x] which takes into account the scores, the ranks, their overlapping standard deviations and such?
I'm not so much interested in a statistically precise and bullet-proof calculation, pragmatic approximations that are conceptually defensible would also do the trick.
