Given that the HB estimated betas require a two-stage process, and that while the estimates are being computed we see a graph with "Alpha" on the vertical axis, are these actually the alphas, which are an input into estimating the betas, or are these the betas themselves? This is very confusing.
I am trying to understand how these parameters estimates are used: I suspect that they are used to generate the Individual Utilities (raw), but when I did some calculations the values did not match (see my previous posted question).
