I am creating a conjoint experiment for my master's thesis in political science. During my research, I have read a lot of articles using conjoint analysis, but I am yet to see one adressing this problem: How do you deal with the possibility that two profiles with the exact same attribute levels pop up?
I get that usually there are so many different attributes and attribute levels at play, that the probability of two identical profiles showing up in a comparison is very small. But there is a probability, nonetheless. And I just wonder how to deal with this probability, if you even can deal with it within the "rules" of conjoint experiments.
Thanks a lot in advance!
How do you avoid "copies" of profiles in conjoint experiments?
