Dear all,
I am currently designing a CBC survey. I am using Discover-CBC, because all attributes have known a priori utility order and Discover-CBC helps to avoid presenting dominated choice tasks (as written above). I have a few questions regarding this:
1. As written above concerning the utility constraints: "In both CBC and ACBC, a priori preference order may be imposed as utility constraints during HB estimation", when using Lighthouse Studio.
I am now using the Discover CBC where you give information for the level preference order before the survey starts.
My question now is if using Discover-CBC are the information about the preference orders of levels used as utility constraints in the utility estimation OR is the preference orders of levels only used as information during the questionnaire design?
2. If the level preference order information is used as utility constraint is there anything I have to think about for my interpretation of the utilities?
3. And is there anything I must observe if I export the data form Discover-CBC into Lighthouse Studio to run a HB estimation?
4. Is it also a priori preference order if I have the following scenario:
attribute: service offering
level 1: service 1
level 2: service 1 + service 2
level 3. service 1 + service 2 + service 3
More is always better, so it is an a priori preference order or?
Many thanks in advance!
